Mortal Kombat 11 bringing more ultraviolence in April

"'Mortal Kombat' is back and better than ever in the next evolution of the iconic franchise", the official description states.

NetherRealm Studios has announced Mortal Kombat 11, seeing the gory fighting franchise making a gloriously bloody comeback in 2019, with all-new Custom Character Variations, seemingly taking its cue from last year's Injustice 2.

As you can see from the video above, a familiar blood tipped harpoon smashes through the presentation screen and we are treated to a lightning version of the familiar Dragon Logo for Mortal Kombat, sending the crowd into a frenzy at The Game Awards and millions watching around the world via livestream.

The press release pins the Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay debut at "Mortal Kombat 11: The Reveal", a community celebration of the franchise which will take place at 11:00 AM PST on January 17, 2019 in Los Angeles and 7:00 PM UTC in London. The song playing during the Mortal Kombat 11 trailer is called "Immortal" by 21 Savage.
