Jake Gyllenhaal confirms his villain role in 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'

His maiden post on the social media website was a video showing him engrossed in a Spider-Man comic titled The Return Of The Man Called Mysterio!

In a much-liked Instagram video shared Wednesday, actor Jake Gyllenhaal appears to have confirmed he's playing villain Mysterio in the upcoming movie Spider-Man: Far From Home. Quite an odd villain, Mysterio relies on more of a smoke and mirrors approach in trying to defeat his spider-nemesis.

Spider-Man creators, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, introduced Mysterio in the comics in 1964.

More information about shows for the " Group Therapy Tour " can be found on the band's website . Bryan adds, "There's nothing like playing music live".

As he pulled the comic book away from his face, he said: "Woah, What the.!" The post is accompanied by the caption: "I just realised I'm not playing Spider-Man". A special effects expert, Quentin Beck used his talents to create elaborate illusions to commit crimes and to fight Spider-Man. And, with the current rumour-mill suggesting we'll get a Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer at the weekend, we'll bet good money we'll get to see the character in action (why else do the Jake reveal this week?) when it lands.

Anyone who's seen "Avengers: Infinity War" knows (spoiler alert!) that several of Earth's mightiest heroes were turned to dust when Thanos (Josh Brolin) finally completed his gauntlet and snapped his fingers, effectively killing half of the inhabitants of the galaxy, including Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Spider-Man: Far From Home is due to hit cinemas in July 2019.
