Xiaomi Releases AirDots Wireless Earbuds With Bluetooth 5.0

It's unclear whether the AirDots will be available in worldwide markets, but Chinese fans of Xiaomi will be able to preorder theirs on November 11th.

There's no telling whether Xiaomi will be able to match Apple when it comes to the overall AirPods experience, but at $30, the AirDots are still a great deal, if you're looking for affordable wireless headphones. It takes only a single touch to start or pause music, and other functions such as making calls and sending messages can be performed smoothly using these touch buttons.

Expanding its diverse portfolio of products, Xiaomi has launched the new AirDots wireless earbuds. The Chinese company has outgrown that inclination and while its new Mi AirDots might sound like the AirPods, they are thankfully quite far from being cheap clones. Users will just need to place their fingers on the earbuds to control the voice assistant, music or even calls. It's priced at just CNY 199 (~Rs 2,100) in China and will go on sale starting November 11 through Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning.

Three found dead in collapsed buildings in Marseille, search goes on
The buildings - one condemned and apparently vacant, the other containing apartments - collapsed at about 9am on Monday. According to AP, one of the houses were five-storied, the other had six floors.

The Mi AirDots come with 7.2mm audio drivers which Xiaomi claims can produce deep bass and high-quality stereo audio. The buds offer around five hours of use, with the charging case bringing the total playback time to around 12 hours. Furthermore, they work on the latest Bluetooth v5.0 protocol which ensures lesser power consumption and better range, nonetheless, they are also compatible with devices having Bluetooth v4.2 and older versions of it.

Each earpiece of the AirDots Youth Edition weighs just 4.2 grams, and the in-ear buds are created to ensure that the earpieces do not fall off, Xiaomi commented.

When kept inside the charging box, the headsets are turned off automatically and are instantly put on charging.
