White House revokes CNN reporter's press pass after clash with Trump

Trump became frustrated with Acosta's antics.

The move came just hours after CNN's chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta drew the ire of Trump by persisting with questions about his views on a caravan of Central American migrants making its way to the USA border and refused to the President's orders to sit down and clung to the microphone. "Secret Service just informed me I can not enter the grounds for my 8 pm hit", Acosta tweeted Wednesday evening.

According to The New York Times and CNN, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders lied when she stated that CNN's White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, physically mistreated a Trump administration intern who reached out to retrieve a microphone from him.

He repeated that Acosta was a "very rude person", adding, "the way you treat Sarah Huckabee is awful", referring to his White House press secretary. Now, is it appropriate for the president, in taking questions and answers to say that's enough and to decline to other questions?

At that point, a White House intern tried to physically take the microphone from Acosta, who wrestled them for it. 'Excuse me ma'am, ' he said to her. "She provided fraudulent accusations and cited an incident that never happened", CNN said. "This unprecedented decision is a threat to our democracy and the country deserves better", CNN said.

The White House doesn't want us to believe what we're seeing, so they're showing us things that are unbelievable.

Jim Acosta is a joke and CNN should be ashamed of themselves.

POTUS tried to move on to the next reporter's question, but Acosta held onto the microphone, as an aide attempted to take it from him.

It's been another awful day for CNN, though Trump's favorite "fake news" network to mock, and its notoriously grandstanding reporter, don't appear to have figured that out just yet. Ned Price, a spokesman for the National Security Council under President Barack Obama, said Trump's intention at the press conference was clearly to rile up his political base after his party lost control of the House in Tuesday's midterm elections.

"In the current climate, we hope President Trump will stop insulting and denigrating reporters and media outlets, it's making journalists feel unsafe", added Radsch.

"We urge the White House to immediately reverse this weak and misguided action", the association added.

"Well I'm not a big fan of yours either", Trump said.
