Tamera responded to Ashley's tweet, informing her that she is Alaina's aunt and would like to know more about the situation.

The niece of Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley has been confirmed as one of the victims killed in Wednesday night's shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in California.

According to the Los Angeles Times Housley tried to look for his niece at around 3:30 am but was turned away because the hospital was on lockdown.

When speaking to the LA Times, Adam feared the worst and said: 'My gut is saying she's inside the bar, dead. "I'm hoping I'm wrong", Housley said at the time.

The publication also reported that Alaina's Apple Watch and iPhone both indicated that her location was still on the dance floor at the site of the shooting.

The couple has been frantically searching for their niece, Alaina Housley, who was inside the country-western bar when the gunfire erupted.

Housley told the Times: "She's an incredible girl". She knew that her niece was at the bar but hadn't heard from her in hours. "You just don't think that - same stupid quote - you just don't think it's going to happen to you".

Tamera's twin sister Tia Mowry had earlier joined the search for Alaina and called for her safe return, posting on social media: 'Alaina Housely we are praying.

"Ashely this is her aunt Tamera Mowry Housley", Tamera replied.

"I was waiting for the assholes to appear. Please pray. I am numb", she posted. Please do me a favor and introduce yourself in person and see what the result will be.

The killer was identified as 28-year-old Ian David Long, a former machine-gunner and decorated combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan. Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said an investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear what motivated the attack. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this hard time.

"Ok. Thank you. Is she the only one unaccounted for?".
