Oklahoma rises to No

Nine teams are still alive entering Week 11: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Washington State and West Virginia.

A huge matchup with No. 6 Oklahoma late in the season looms large for the Mountaineers.

The playoff picture cleared up after a weekend where several contenders asserted themselves.

For all of the talk about how weak the ACC is this season, the Atlantic Division has four teams ranked, as No. 13 Syracuse, No. 14 NC State and No. 17 Boston College all joined Clemson. 3 LSU lost to No. 1 Alabama. No. 8 Ohio State is a 3.5-point favorite at No. 24 Michigan State, while No. 10 Washington State is a six-point favorite, up 1.5 from the opening line, for its trip to Colorado.

Of course, like in previous seasons, the first rankings show that there is still plenty of football left to play as the LSU Tigers said goodbye to their spot at No. 3 after getting demolished at home - possibly paving the way for the undefeated team that was behind them to move up and create a cluster of one loss teams fighting for the fourth spot. Georgia is the second highest-ranked one-loss team after MI. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The selection committee clearly values Clemson's strength of schedule, and the Tigers have another opportunity Saturday to punctuate their résumé by clinching the division with a victory over BC. Alabama held LSU scoreless for the second time in three meetings, earning an SEC West Division title and another SEC title game bid.

But there was more drama to come as Ashley Young whipped the ball on and it was bundled home off the face of Alex Sandro . A four-minute smash and grab, including a 90th-minute victor , from Manchester United gave them a 2-1 win over Juventus .

Check back after three more regular season games and the SEC championship tilt with No. 1 Alabama for the final rankings that matter for the Bulldogs. West Virginia had a huge win at Texas and will move up.

Oklahoma Sooners - Neither they nor Washington State had convincing wins last weekend, but Oklahoma beat a better Texas Tech team on the road so they get the edge.

No other Big Ten teams made the cut including the first place Northwestern Wildcats or the 6-3 Wisconsin Badgers who also beat Iowa earlier this season.
