Ginsburg was hospitalized in Washington after suffering three fractured ribs from a fall. "She is doing well and plans to work from home today", a U.S. Supreme Court spokesperson said in a statement Friday.

The justice's nephew Daniel Stiepleman told Reuters Thursday night at the premiere of "On the Basis of Sex", a movie about Justice Ginsburg's early career, his aunt was "doing great".

President Trump has already had two Supreme Court nominees approved for the highest court - Neil Gorsuch and more recently Brett Kavanaugh.

Yesterday, we learned that Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been hospitalized after breaking three ribs in a fall in her office.

A spokeswoman says state law enforcement officials in Florida have not launched any elections-fraud allegations. Nelson lawyer Mar Elias shot back at Scott for using his official position to try to influence the election.

The court had previously said the justice fell in her office at the court building on Capitol Hill on Wednesday evening and went to George Washington University Hospital in Washington the following morning after experiencing discomfort overnight.

This type of injury tends to be painful because the ribs move with each breath, said CBS News chief medical correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook, who is not involved in Ginsburg's treatment.

But she has never missed Supreme Court arguments. The court is now divided 5-4 in favor of conservatives, and the Republican-controlled Senate is poised to confirm any of Donald Trump's potential Supreme Court appointments for the next two years.

The Times also notes, "She broke two ribs in 2012, without missing work".
