Floyd Mayweather announces next fight with key detail missing

Boxer Floyd Mayweather will fight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan on 31 December, after signing a deal with a mixed martial arts company.

"I wanted to display my skills outside the USA and be in a special fight", Mayweather said at a press conference in Tokyo on Monday.

While the fight is happening, no one knows exactly what rules will be in place as they did not announce whether they would be boxing or kickboxing - his Instagram picture shows him wearing a boxing glove and an MMA glove. After winning a Bronze medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Mayweather turned pro and never looked back.

His opponent is the 20-year-old Nasukawa, who boasts an undefeated kickboxing record of 27-0 with 21 knockouts.

The legendary counter puncher has too many accolades to name. The five-division champion has defeated the likes of Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Marcos Maidana, and Andre Berto.

In an interview on Saturday, the 41-year-old said he would be comfortable fighting under any format. He has also racked up wins in some of the most financially successful pay-per-view events of all time against Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao, and most recently, UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots: Preview and Prediction
No live games are available under this service, but you'll be able to watch them following the conclusion of games for the day. Him sitting on Sunday night , when the Patriots will need to score to beat Aaron Rodgers and the Packers , is pretty telling.

The exact rules of the bout have not yet been set, but RIZIN has told fight fans to "stay tuned" as details are hopefully soon to follow.

There has been some talk the past few weeks about Mayweather possibly taking on UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov.

ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani said it was unlikely to be an MMP bout.

"As far as the weight class, we're not really anxious about that".

"He's young and he's undefeated so it's obvious he's doing something right", Mayweather said of Nasukawa.

"(Then) Nasukawa Tenshin was the first guy we could think of, and the only guy we can think of (for this match)". "But it will be a great fight that everybody will be so excited to see". While the organizations were initially meant to co-exist independently with occasional crossover events, the UFC instead absorbed many of Pride's top fighters before folding the operation.
