Nadal withdrew from last month's Paris Masters with an abdominal muscle injury, meaning Novak Djokovic replaced him as world number one.

The Serbian booked his place in the final after a mammoth battle with Roger Federer in the semifinals and was favorite to take his fifth title at Paris-Bercy owing to his recent form.

"I want to talk about how well he played all week", Djokovic said, as per ATP's official site.

"Hello all, I'm writing these words at the end of my season", he said in the first of a series of tweets posted on Monday afternoon. I could very well be the underdog in every single match I play; that could be a good thing for me.

Djokovic moved up from No. 2 to overtake Rafael Nadal on Monday.

Rafael Nadal says he needs an operation on his right ankle and will miss the ATP Finals in London this month.

He was forced to retire mid-way through his US Open semi-final with Juan Martin Del Potro in September due to pain in his right knee and has not been able to play a competitive match since.

Its once again the time of the year where the creamiest of the cream tennis players defend against each other.

Priyanka , as always, looked stunning in a leopard printed top, which she paired with a pair of maroon high-waist pants . Pictures of the bride-to-be having fun along with her girl gang are everywhere on the social media.

So yes, the Swiss legend, Roger Federer and the invincible man from Serbia, Novak Djokovic hold the crest at the tournament.

But nobody could question his courage at the 2012 Australian Open, when he beat Nadal in the longest Grand Slam final of all time, a draining 5hr 53min epic.

Djokovic finished runner-up at the Paris Masters after losing to Karan Khachanov on Sunday but still returned to number one in the rankings for the first time since 2016.

It looks like the best possible draw for Federer, who has added another remarkable year, winning yet another Grand Slam in Australia.

At Wimbledon this year, he hit out at some Centre Court fans for a perceived lack of respect while schedulers also felt his ire for exiling him to Court Two for a third round match.

Despite his successes, Nadal's season was marred by health woes.

"What Novak has achieved this season has to go down as one of the great sporting comebacks".
