Tom Brady Not Ready To Place Expectations On Josh Gordon

The Cleveland Browns have traded troubled receiver Josh Gordon to the New England Patriots for a conditional fifth-round draft pick.

The Patriots also have significant draft capital in 2019: a first-round pick, two second-rounders (one from Chicago) and a third-rounder, with the expectation that they could receive two additional third-round compensatory picks for losing offensive tackle Nate Solder and cornerback Malcolm Butler in free agency.

After initially saying they would cut Gordon on Monday, the Browns made a decision to take advantage of the market and find a trade partner. New England didn't quite win the Super Bowl that season, but given that it went undefeated before that game, it was a pretty darn good bet to do so. After the medical staff ruled him out for Sunday's game, the Browns decision makers "decided they were done trusting Gordon", Jackson wrote.

Then, Gordon returned to the team days prior to the preseason finale only to suffer a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice until the Wednesday before the regular-season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Josh Gordon is a generational talent at the wide receiver position who is capable of making plays that swing the balance of an entire game.

In 2013, Gordon racked up 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in a mere 14 games.

It's the latest move in Trump's push against "unfair" trade policies, which economists fear will prove counterproductive. The latest US duties spared smart watches from Apple and Fitbit and other consumer products such as baby vehicle seats.

Despite his past issues, Gordon was welcomed back by the Browns late last season.

In those five games, Gordon turned 18 catches into 335 yards and one touchdown.

"I think it's obviously known that he's a freakish athlete", Patriots receiver Phillip Dorsett said moments after the trade became official.

Honestly an 11 personnel grouping of Gordon, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and Zach Ertz may be the most potent collection of weapons the Eagles have had in my lifetime.

It's taken just over two weeks for the 2018 National Football League season to get flipped on its head. I mean, we see what he does when he's on the field.
