Nintendo Switch Is Getting NES Controllers

The new controller is designed specifically for the NES games available on the Switch console, enabling buyers to "play like old school gamers did back in the day", the company explains. We might hear about more games during the Nintendo Direct on Thursday. Super Mario Bros. and forthcoming Excitebike and Ice Climber games. The set comes complete with a left and right handed joy-con shape, and is usable for NES games for fans pining for an old school feel in their hands.

Finally, there's the very inconvenient voice chat process for online games. Plus, you can enhance your online experience with features available through the smartphone app and receive special offers.

Nintendo is offering several plans for the service. Individual membership is separated into three tiers: $3.99 for one month; $7.99 for three months and $19.99 for 12 months.

Nintendo sent along instructions in its email, which walks users through the process of linking the appropriate Nintendo Account step by step.

You can pre-order the Switch NES controllers on September 18th, and Nintendo says shipments will start in December.
