Jurgen Klopp scoffs at Gary Neville's suggestion

Jurgen Klopp has ridiculed Gary Neville's suggestion that Liverpool should improve their Premier League title prospects by treating the Champions League lightly.

Merson has backed Liverpool to emerge victorious from the clash at Wembley, but has said that the Reds will find it "so difficult" to beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.

'I don't want to be too critical as I don't know exactly what or why he said it, but it's a bit silly, sitting in an office talking about football, it's different to doing the job'.

Liverpool have won their opening four games of a league season for the first time since 1990-91 under Kenny Dalglish.

It will mark the start of an extremely busy period for Klopp's side, with seven matches in 23 days on the horizon, and Klopp admits squad rotation will be required in the coming weeks, although Adam Lallana (groin) and Dejan Lovren (pelvis) remain sidelined.

"When a striker does not fill the net and does not score goals, always you need to find some reason why but I think he is fit", Pochettino said.

"Why? I think their method is exhausting for the front three [Salah, Mane and Firmino]".

Hughes says credits his willingness to listen to life, and his wife, for taking on the Storm head coach role. The nucleus is young and still hungry, except for Bird, who is, well, not so young, but still hungry.

Liverpool, who finished as runners-up in the Champions League last season, were forced to settle with a fourth placed finish in the league last season, which they secured during the final weekend of fixtures.

The defeat did at least spark some kind of wake up call for the Reds, who then went 18 matches unbeaten in all competitions.

"Gary should come over and tell me how that exactly works", Klopp told a press conference.

"I think they'll win this one but toppling Manchester City for the title will be so hard".

"How do you prepare for a game and not focus on it?"

"Disappointed, because we're going to miss him for this game, and possibly Inter Milan in the Champions League (on Tuesday), but it is not a big issue", Pochettino told reporters. An attacking game. Both teams play attacking football.

Fabinho, another possible option in defence, has yet to kick a competitive ball for the club and with a gruelling fixture list about to kick in, many should be careful what they wish for. To focus on one competition can only be if you are out, or almost out, or of if it's late in the season.
