Weather outlook: Tracking rain and storms

Slow-moving rain and storms along with heavy rain could lead to an increased flash flood risk.

THURSDAY | Partly sunny with isolated shower and storm chances.

Scattered clusters of storms and rain will threaten the area late this afternoon into tonight. West wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. Highs will be in the 80s, with some potential for 70s in the northern parts of Kansas. Storm systems will roll off the high terrain during the evening, and move southeast into Kansas during the overnight hours.

Tuesday will be almost identical to Monday with scattered to widespread afternoon rain, with a slightly smaller rain chance by Wednesday. Skies will be mostly cloudy and it will be breezy, especially near the coast. This upper-level disturbance will keep rain chances in our forecast on Sunday and Monday, however, development will be most likely over our eastern counties.
