Trump arrives in Britain, questioning May's Brexit plan

Opponents to the controversial United States leader have threatened mass protests but Mr Trump is expected to avoid areas such as central London where demonstrators are likely to gather.

She listed Mr Trump's immigration policies, bans on some people entering the USA, his foreign policies, and lack of support for taking action on climate change as having affects across the globe.

They added: "Rather than an attack on one minority, Trump is an attack on the idea of diversity, and the ability for people to live their lives in a way that doesn't affect anyone else...this is about standing in solidarity with this is about protecting our right to be different from one another and to get along".

It is widely believed that such a schedule has been designed for Donald Trump because of the overwhelming protests that are expected to descend on London during his visit.

Trump has always been a supporter of Brexit and has expressed enthusiasm for a wide-ranging trade deal with Britain after it leaves the European Union, something heralded by Brexit supporters as being one of the great benefits of exiting the bloc.

He has clashed in the past with May - even though she is a fellow conservative who shares his view that defense spending should be hiked - and with her predecessor, David Cameron, who challenged Mr. Trump's anti-Muslim campaign stance as "divisive, stupid and wrong". As Trump argued the move towards Brexit is down to Britain having similar views on immigration to himself, he included Ireland in the talk, linking the country with United Kingdom member state Scotland.

John Scardino, 58, a high school teacher from the United States who has lived in Britian for 18 years and will be at Friday's protests in London, is dubious that the embassy alert would have any effect on crowd size.

Organizers of anti-Trump rallies say they are not expecting any trouble at all - and that it would be very unlikely for any hostility to be directed at ordinary Americans.

Earlier this week, Trump said it was "up to the people" whether the prime minister stayed on after two senior Cabinet ministers resigned within hours over her Brexit policy.

With Trump at all times will be a White House doctor and one of five rotating military aides who carry the nuclear "football" - equipped with communication tools and a book with prepared war plans. Trump and the first lady will then have tea with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle in the afternoon.

He is due to stay overnight at the ambassador's Winfield House residence in London's Regent's Park, where demonstrators plan to play recordings of migrant children held in U.S. detention centers.

President Donald Trump arrived in London Thursday afternoon, where he will attend a state dinner and meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May - after making his mark on the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Belgium.

Following the gala event at the 18th century country house, Trump and his wife will come to central London to spend a night at US Ambassador Woody Johnson's official London residence, Winfield House, in Regent's Park.

On Friday, demonstrators are expected to gather near Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence, where May and Trump will hold a working lunch.

After arriving at Bleneim Palace, Trump was met by the prime minister and her husband, Philip.

"And I said Putin may be the easiest of them all", he continued.
