World Cup squad France says no to Payet

Didier Deschamps' 23-man French squad for the forthcoming World Cup includes the names of N'Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud.

Bayern Munich winger Coman is on the reserves list, along with Rabiot, Martial and Lacazette, but Payet is out entirely after the Marseille captain was injured in Thursday's Europa League final defeat to Atletico Madrid in Lyon.

For any who haven't paid close attention to Ligue 1 this season, Florian Thauvin's inclusion ahead of Martial could raise some eyebrows, but the Marseille man has racked up 26 goals and 18 assists in all competitions this season to the United star's 11 and nine.

Payet finally missed out his chance of shining in Russian Federation, as Deschamps feared a risk of relapse of the injury despite a three-week recovery.

Elsewhere, Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy was called up despite having hardly featured for Pep Guardiola's side since returning from a serious knee injury.

Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy makes the cut, as does Chelsea duo N'Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud as well as Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Netflix to invest 85 percent spending on original content
Netflix told Reuters the streaming service plans to release at least 86 original films in 2018. The company also said that there are still almost 470 shows to be released this year alone.

Deschamps has until June 4 before submitting his definitive squad list.

France are without defender Laurent Koscielny, who suffered a major Achilles injury in Arsenal's Europa League semi-final against Atletico.

As expected, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is not in the squad after being snubbed since being involved in a sex tape-blackmail scandal in 2015.

Thomas Lemar-who has scored just three times for Monaco this year-is more of a surprise after his drop-off in form.

"Players have repaid my faith and I put the group above everything", Deschamps said.

For an exit in the playoffs of the world Cup team France, being one of the main favorites of the tournament, will compete with Australia, Peru and Denmark.
