When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement was announced, paparazzi photos of Markle's father soon surfaced online. Photos of Markle intently studying "Images of Great Britain: A Pictorial Tour Through History" in a Starbucks quickly went viral - but were later discovered to have been staged.
The report also mentions that Markle is back in the hospital after reportedly being treated for a heart attack a week ago. According to family friends he is "devastated" that he has embarrassed his daughter, and that the episode has cast a shadow over the royal family and the forthcoming wedding.
Friends said the bride-to-be was distraught after troubled Thomas Markle, 73, said he wanted to save her further embarrassment, following reports that he colluded with a paparazzi photographer to stage a series of pictures in the run-up to the wedding, reports the Daily Mail.
Father and son Windsor Grey horses Storm and Tyrone will be escorting Meghan and Harry away from their wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle this weekend.
"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding".
It's expected the royal children will be involved in the wedding of Harry and Meghan. He met Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, at a Hollywood studio in the late 70s but the pair split when their daughter was still young.
Meghan Markle's father may not attend royal wedding
Markle Sr. and the photographer chose the party shop for the photos because they arrived at the suit store after it closed. Meghan Markle's family is taking full advantage of their five minutes of fame (they have five days left).
Additional photos show him reading a book, "Images of Britain", as well as exercising and being measured for a suit, The Telegraph noted.
The royal family has had a similar situation in the past. I said [to Thomas Markle], 'You know, the world has no idea you're getting in shape, doing healthy things, ' " Grant said during an appearance on the British talk show Loose Women on Monday. "She likes candies. I'm confident you'll show her a good time".
Director Menhaj Huda told Vanity Fair: "What I've heard is that they're seriously anxious about the sex scene".
The royal wedding is set to take place on Saturday (May 19).
There was no independent confirmation that Mr Markle had been ill, however.
Her parents split when Meghan was young, but she told Vanity Fair this year that they remain on good terms and even take vacations together as a family.
