Courtney Love, Frances' mom, previously told TMZ when asked about Silva's claims to the instrument, "It's not his to take".

In January 2017, Silva had claimed that she gave him the guitar as a wedding present, which she denied, adding it was a "priceless family heirloom".

Frances Bean Cobain's has lost the battle for her late father Kurt Cobain's guitar, after the finalisation of her divorce settlement saw the instrument handed to her ex-husband Isaiah Silva. Originally given to her for safekeeping, the guitar is thought to be worth millions of dollars. He was seeking US25k a month.

Photographs showing Kurt Cobain's body after he killed himself are to remain sealed, a court in his hometown of Seattle, Washington has ruled. Silva is also reportedly responsible for his own legal bills, and Frances gets to keep the house they bought.

KING5-TV [via the Associated Press] reports that the court ruled the photographs exempt from Washington state's Public Records Act on Tuesday (May 15).

"I think the main reason people embrace the conspiracy theory is simply that it's very painful to imagine that Kurt, someone they loved or maybe identified with, that he betrayed them in some degree by taking his own life", he said.

According to TMZ, Frances Bean Cobain and ex-husband have been entangled in a messy divorce for the last two years. "You know, the bottom line is there's absolutely no evidence to suggest that Kurt's death was anything other than suicide, and it's nearly absurd that the topic continues to come up".

"I would hope that he would be proud of the human being I am even if he didn't like the art I am putting out".

Frances Bean testified that the while she has no memory of her father, she "has had to deal with the trauma of his death her entire life".
