HOT weekend ahead, with more rain coming next week


Same weather pattern Saturday and Saturday night... mostly sunny afternoon with highs in the low/mid 90s, lows in the low/mid 60s. Highs during that stretch will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Central Virginia is probably going to enjoy dry weather on Saturday. Expect another warm day as highs soar right back into the mid-upper 80's for highs.

An isolated storm isn't out of the question toward the afternoon or evening, but the rain threat appears low for now.

Storm chances increase on Tuesday and look to be highest from Wednesday into Thursday as multiple storm systems slide across the area.

High temperatures for the week are expected to continue in the 80s with lows likely to linger in the 70s, the NWS predicts.

Later Sunday night, we'll have to keep our eye on the northern sky for a storm or two that will try to go up. For southeastern areas especially, not only will it be another warm day, but humid as well. That wind will swing around from the SW to the NW; Friday afternoon will be breezy and fresh!

It was a toasty Friday with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s across the region. We will likely need the umbrellas and rain coat as high temperatures will struggle to make it to 50° Saturday with an onshore flow, which will make for a cool breeze.

A fast-moving cold front will catch up to an offshore low to bring us more showers.
