Flood Warning In Effect For Huron River In Hamburg

All of the rainy weather we have had the last few days has led the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids to issue a Flood Watch for portions of south central MI and southwest MI.

The Flood Warning already in place at the Rock River in Afton remains.

Floodwaters covered a baseball diamond on 6 Mile Road, according to the Weather Service.

A Flood Warning has been issued for Sweetwater Creek near Austell, affecting Cobb and Douglas counties until 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Up to four inches could fall in localized areas, and water levels are already at high levels from recent rain.

The Rock River at Newville is now at "pre-flooding" stage. That watch, issued just before 10:40 a.m. Monday, lasts from Tuesday afternoon to Friday morning.

Minor flooding is occurring on the Similkameen River near Nighthawk, and major flooding is forecast for later in the week.

At 10 a.m., the river was measuring at 10.65 feet at the New Munster gauge.

A flash flood emergency was declared Tuesday night for the city of Frederick, Md., authorities said, describing the situation as "particularly risky".
