The first game will feature the Crimson Tide traveling to Austin, Texas for a game September 10, 2022, with the Longhorns making the return trip to Tuscaloosa a year later on September 9, 2023.

Texas football will play a home-and-home nonconference series with Alabama in 2022-2023, the school announced Wednesday. The Longhorns will push a home-and-home series with Ohio State from those years back to 2025 and 2026. "It's been almost 100 years since Alabama has visited Austin and over a century since the Longhorns have traveled to Tuscaloosa, so we're looking forward to it". In nine previous matchups between the two college football titans, Texas - and not Alabama - holds a decided edge with a 7-1-1 record. Most of the prior meetings came in bowl games, including the 1960 Bluebonnet Bowl, the 1965 Orange Bowl, and the 1973 and 1982 Cotton Bowls, in addition to the 2010 BCS National Championship Game.

Celtics Fans Chant 'F- You JR' Following In-Game Scuffle
Smith called Pacers guard Lance Stephenson a "clown" for his weird antics on the court-presumably including his dirty play. It was then that the 18,000 fans in attendance may have made history when they unleashed an R-rated chant at Smith.

Texas and Alabama have not played one another in a non-neutral site matchup since they met in Austin in 1922.

With the Crimson Tide on the schedule, Texas also announced it has canceled a home game with UCF that had been slated for 2023.
