Alexis Sanchez has spoken about how Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, nearly blocked his move to Manchester United in January.

Alexis Sanchez has admitted he is filled with pride in becoming the highest-paid footballer in the history of the Premier League.

With his image rights and bonuses included, the 29-year-old Sanchez could earn up to an eye-watering £600,000 on a weekly basis.

According to the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho is planning a summer cull at Manchester United that could see up to nine first-team players axed, and Arsenal should look to gain revenge on the Red Devils by signing one of their star men.

He added on discussions with a former manager at Emirates Stadium: "Arsene Wenger was very fond of me".

"You know, easy life, and the fans not upset and no critics, that's not good. That's not good, because if you want to make a real top team with top mentality they need to grow up".

Jets Acquire Third Pick In Draft From Colts
It's worth noting that Maccagnan left the Jets' free-agency war room in recent days to attend the Rosen and Mayfield pro days. Ballard was hesitant to move out of the top-10 knowing that this 2018 Draft doesn't have gobs of top-end talent.

The Chilean forward has opened up about his controversial departure from Arsenal, revealing that Wenger tried to convince him to snub United by telling him" "You're the best we've got'.

'No Chilean had played here. "We stayed on good terms, he congratulated me and there were no problems", he told CHV.

"I think Pep saw that".

On the pressures of playing for United, Sanchez said: "The pressure doesn't hinder me, it plays in my favour".

Sanchez has struggled to impress following his move to United, with the Chile ace netting just once in 10 appearances under Mourinho.

"However, I wanted to continue growing as a player, more so as a Chilean, because it's hard to get to Manchester United".
