Floyd Mayweather Reportedly Applying For MMA License

This comes months after Mayweather came out of retirement to defeat former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match last August.

Last week Davis tweeted about heading into the UFC, and told TMZ Sports he'd not watched MMA until after his tweet about entering the Octagon, and now he believes he can be a competitor at flyweight.

The latest development in this story is the fact that Mayweather is taking the most important step in this transition, which is to get a license to compete as a pro-MMA fighter.

Mayweather told TMZ he is planning to apply for a license that will allow him to compete in mixed martial arts, with the goal of making his UFC debut some point in the near future.

He'd have more of a chance but even still, it's a surprising risk taken by a man who has taken few risks in his career.

The American boxing legend has suggested that he is set to soon start training with UFC welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley leading to the possibility of Mayeweather vs. McGregor 2.

He also rated his wrestling game as 7/10.

Recently, MMA champion Conor McGregor went to his Instagram page and appeared to suggest Floyd would never fight in the UFC.

"We can take it up to a nine, if possible. My kicking game, on a scale of 1 to 10, is probably a 4".
