Pronouncing the judgement, Justice B Kemal Pasha said that the CBI should probe it as a fresh case in order to bring out the truth.

Opposition Congress led UDF and BJP today said that the Kerala high court's order for a CBI probe into the recent killing of a Youth Congress worker in Kannur district was a setback to the LDF government.

Earlier in a peace meet held in Kannur post-February 12 violence, minister A K Balan had said the government was ready to announce probe by any agency in the country, including the Central Bureau of Investigation. The investigation in its early stages drew criticism from the Congress that attempts were on to subvert the probe by arresting proxy accused. Hence, there was no need for a CBI probe, the government said. All 11 people taken into custody are CPM activists.

"The High Court may have its own reasons in ordering a CBI probe into the case".

"Vijayan should relinquish the home portfolio as the High Court has criticised the investigation of the case by the state police', Rajasekharan said".

Despite the past success, investors want to know where the stock is headed from here. 7,500 were reported by Cornerstone Advisors. The energy company reported $0.38 earnings per share for the quarter, missing analysts' consensus estimates of $0.60 by ($0.22).

Strict action will be taken against those trying to free accused from police stations and would not allow any illegal activities, he added. Even in Shuhaib case there were no allegations against the Kerala police probe.

Shuhaib was murdered on 15 February in Kannur, allegedly by workers of the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Kodiyeri said if CBI which works directly under the instructions of RSS, is misused for hounding the CPM workers then the party would counter it legally and politically.

No objective of investigation would be served if the case was probed by the local police, which would be "partial, biased, motivated and prejudicial", they had said.
