JACK BUTLAND will step into the firing line against Italy for the next stage of the most open fight ever to become England's World Cup keeper.

Speaking to the Eagles' official website, Ward explained his decision: "I'm going to go out for an all defender in Vincent Kompany to lock up that back".

They have pace in nearly every positon, players performing and excelling at the highest level with their club sides, and they certainly don't lack desire.

Uncapped Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, Stoke's Jack Butland and Everton's Pickford were also called up for this month's World Cup warm-up friendlies, with the latter given the nod for Friday's 1-0 win in Amsterdam.

"But if you can play with composure and play through and out of pressure then it (eases) off the opposition in terms of their pressure and eventually they stop running and you have more time in different areas of the field".

Southgate said last week of his summer options between the sticks: "I know who it would be if we played tomorrow but I think we've still got plenty of football to be played". "They tell me I should go and play in a big club which plays in the big cup competitions, but I will decide what is best for me", Belotti told state broadcaster Rai.

This will be the first time Germany face Brazil at senior worldwide level since the Selecao were hammered 7-1 in the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup. "OK, they didn't get the playoffs right, but they've got good players and are a proud footballing nation".

The trip to Wembley will nearly certainly be Luigi Di Biagio's last game in temporary charge of the Azzurri, so he's sure to have his team fired up.

I wouldn't want my kids around it. "Mario was like we are going heavy and we are going to contour and hide and he taught me everything I know".

Searching hard for good news, he added: "It's tough, but I've got my first medal so I can't complain". The coach organises his teams well, good detail.

He may have split fans at the start of the campaign but there's nothing more that supporters love to see than one of their own performing well consistently for the first team.

"But we have good competition for places because if you look at possible No 8s, Adam Lallana comes into that as well".

"You can see that from the extremely high pass quota - over 90 percent - from Spain, we expect the same against Brazil". "Whoever it will be is going to be coming off a battle, which is what we want".

"There might be three or four players in the starting line-ups from 2014", he said. "Hopefully on Tuesday we can go again". The reason there has been a disconnect with the team is not because of what they've done.

"I've had the players" backing and the manager's backing. They don't have around 50 caps. They also face Panama and Belgium in Group G. We have to give them space to do that.
