Over a year ago, SRK had said in an interview that Bhansali had offered him two projects including a period drama, but he could not sign any of them because of his business with other projects.

Earlier, it was reported that it was Aamir Khan himself who recommended Shah Rukh Khan's name for Salute. Many people say that Devdas is Bhansali's career best work and Khan's finest performance of all time, where one hopes that magic shall re unite once again. They had several meetings to discuss the scripts in hand previous year, but nothing really worked out. The source added, "SLB and SRK are both extremely professional". However, Bhansali did approach Khan for two films, which the "Dear Zindagi" (2017) actor declined. They don't let work affect their personal equation.

But perhaps most interesting was the admission that he once played a game drunk after he was nearly traded to the Los Angeles Lakers .

It is worth mentioning that Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have worked together in blockbuster movie "Devdas" that released in 2002. They are good friends and they remain so. The actor, who has now immersed himself in his upcoming film Zero, will move on to the next project only by September. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles and will be releasing during Christmas 2018. The source informed, "SRK is discussing films with a few other directors and he will green light one, so expect a big announcement about his next film very soon". He will perhaps begin the shoot of Salute by September, and will shoot for close to two to three months and wrap its first schedule.
