Octavia Spencer: Jessica Chastain helped me earn 5 times my asking salary


The two actors, who previously worked together in the 2011 movie, The Help, are reuniting in an upcoming holiday comedy produced by Chastain.

"I have a story, and you guys are gonna be the first to hear it", Spencer said to the crowd at a "Women Breaking Barriers" panel.

It comes after Jessica revealed her pride that, in an era where politics is becoming more "conservative and intolerant", the movie industry is trying to be more diverse and pushing for gender equality.

"I can only hope that with all the attractive alliances made as of late in the entertainment industry that women of color can lean on our courageous and compassionate white sisters to flow us their support and power to create more equality in this area as we move forward", she wrote on Twitter. "So, if we're gonna have that conversation about pay equity, we gotta bring the women of color to the table, '" she told attendees. "And I got to give our sister Jessica Chastain her props".
